Low and high voltage underground cable installations up to 132kV

The majority of the work we carry out in the Electrical arena is underground cable installation either in a ducted system or direct buried to ground.

We install both low voltage and high voltage cables up to 132kV and are well equipped for all cable works owning all our own winches and cable trailers. Utility Installation Projects winches have the capacity to install up to 1000meters of cable in a continuous length.

Our Electrical Works vary greatly from installing in congested highways to across agricultural land and we enjoy working in different environments.

Utility Installation Projects personnel are highly trained and are given regular opportunities to gain further qualifications in the industry.  As such a considerable amount of our works involve laying cables in Sub Stations where the utmost care must be taken and our staff are qualified to do this.

We also construct oil joint bays for jointing works and on a number of occasions have worked with towers, installing 132kV cables up to the sealing end platform ready for connection to overhead lines.

Utility Installation Projects are also capable of undertaking feasibility studies from stage one right through to completion.  This may include special engineering difficulties such as rail or river crossings, motorway crossing, cable supply and jointing works.  If necessary we use subcontractors to complete these works but ensure they are always project managed by Utility Installation Projects.

In terms of expansion Utility Installation Projects are regularly reviewing their plant stock, and have recently acquired a 20 tonne drum trailer designed and manufactured specifically for us.
